I have been running a successful private practice for many years and have had the privilege to help hundreds of my clients improve their quality of life, gain confidence, find direction and purpose, achieve their goals and overcome long-standing obstacles to their health and well being.
My approach incorporates all the skills and experience I've gained from over 25 years in healthcare. Having started as an RGN and worked both in the UK and abroad in various fields – general medicine, surgery, opthalmology and intensive care – I realized that my path lay in a more holistic approach to health, where a person's life, health and wellness could be seen an inter-connected whole, rather than a collection of many separate parts. Since then, I have trained in and studied many disiplines, some of which are listed below:
Professional trainings and qualifications
/ˈɛs(ə)ns/ from the Latin 'esse': to be
- The intrinsic nature or most indispensable quality of something (abstract) which determines its character
- Sums up the heart and soul of something, its truest qualities
- The unchangeable nature of something which is necessary to its being the thing it is
It has been my experience both personally and as a therapist and coach over many years that, beyond the plethora of diagnostic labels, symptoms, illnesses and maladies of various sorts that my clients present with, there is always an underlying principle which must be included and addressed if there is to be any real and sustained healing. It is something usually ignored by a health system which treats individuals as a collection of parts and systems which need to be 'fixed' separately.
It has to do with the very essence of who you are.
Some call this essence spirit, soul, source, life force, energy or other names. What matters is that there is often a discrepancy between who you really are (and your full potential is as a human being) and who you believe yourself to be. Mis-alignment between the two results sooner or later in mis-direction, unhappiness or dis-ease.
The most important aspect of my work is to help you re-align to your true nature. When this happens, transformation is the natural, follow-on result which opens up your highest potential and capacity for wellness, fulfilment and enjoyment of your life as a whole. It's simple really.
Music from the inside out
From restoring harmony on an inner level, perhaps it is no surprise that my life-long passion for music centres on harmony too. A choral singer and self-taught pianist, I accompany singers and perform in chamber ensembles.
Mind Body Music
I also immensely enjoy applying my therapeutic and coaching skills in the performing arts, particularly for musicans' health and well being in areas such as reducing performance anxiety (stage fright), freeing up movement and co-ordination, improving technique, release of tension, repetitive strain and cramping, increasing confidence and positive self-image and enhancing memory and sight-reading skills.Read More
